Tech Carts- also called COWs (Computers on Wheels)
CURRENTLY Powell has a classroom Tech Cart in all grade level classrooms and the World Peace Game room.
Each cart contains, laptops, Chromebooks and iPads. In most cases there are enough digital devices in each classroom Tech Cart for each student in the classroom, providing a 1:1 student to digital device ratio.
iPad APPS have been purchased with Powell Technology funds to support student academic growth. Teachers should direct students to use these Math and Language arts APPS that integrate learning through play and practice.
Teachers may report APP issues using the Report Problems Link.
Document Cameras (LadyBugs)
All grade level classrooms receive a Document Camera for the school year.
Software from (Big Fix) must be loaded on the teacher laptop to operate the Document Camera through the laptop.
Submit a request for install using the Report Problems Link.
Headphones & Policy
Teachers must request that students bring a headset or earbud to keep at school for their use at school.
Teachers may use simple Ziploc bags as a headphone/earbud bag and place an index card in the Ziploc bag with the students’ name, classroom teacher’s name and room number.
Teachers should keep all students’ headphones in a container so that students can access their headset/earbuds when using the computers and iPads in the classroom as well as to bring them for use in Domains, electives and when visiting our Dynamic Learning Space.
Students should not keep headset/earbuds in their book bag or bring the headset/earbuds to and from school.
